Customs agents arrested at Kennedy airport

NEW YORK Prosecutors say the arrests are the result of a long investigation. The group allegedly imported hashish and other drugs and contraband into the United States through Kennedy International Airport.

Authorities say those arrested include a Customs supervisor who regularly accepted and solicited bribes to permit contraband to pass through uninspected. A second inspector who worked with him also is charged.

The others arrested include two Customs brokers, an operations manager of a cargo cooperative, and two importers of counterfeit goods and controlled substances.
