Three teens on Long Island are being charged with burglarizing multiple homes on Fire Island. Police say 17-year-old Benjamin Miller and 18-year-olds Christopher Cassidy and Anthony Hawkins were caught in the act of robbing homes in the beach community.

Authorities say a K-9 unit, police helicopters and Marine Bureau officers caught the group near the Davis Park ferry Tuesday around 10:40 a.m. The teens were apparently in the middle of robbing a home when officers arrived.

Stolen property was reportedly recovered at a house near the scene of the break-ins. The Marine Bureau dive team also located some discarded evidence in waters off of the Great South Bay.

Detectives are asking anyone who may have further information regarding the above burglaries to call the Fifth Squad at (631) 854-8552. All calls will be kept confidential.
