Sketch released in SoHo sex attack

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the man wanted for a rape that happened in SoHo.A 19-year-old female was approached by the suspect around 3 a.m. Wednesday on Prince Street. He reportedly asked for a cigarette, and when the victim handed him one, he pulled out a box cutter offered her a choice: Get cut or get raped.

After the sexual assault, the suspect fled the scene. The victim was transported by EMS to Bellevue Hospital, where she was treated.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, approximately 5-foot-9 with a medium build and black hair. He was wearing a light blue baseball cap with a New Era label and was carrying a dark colored back pack.
