A massive fire broke out at a paper plant on Staten Island Monday. The blaza started at the Visy Paper Recycling Company, located at the end of Victory Boulevard just off of Arthur Kill Road in the Travis section.

Bundles and bundles of paper were burning. The smoke was visible as far away as the George Washington Bridge.

The seat of the fire continues to smolder and is secluded beneath the large bales of paper. The operation is expected to continue throughout the night, causing smoke to drift into surrounding neighborhoods.

Five people reportedly suffered minor injuries. They are all listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
