Van Morrison to headline jazz fest

STOCKHOLM, Sweden (AP) - Festival spokeswoman Liisa Tolonen says the Irish soul singer will join U.S. punk rocker Patti Smith among the 30 acts scheduled to appear at the four-day festival that starts July 16 in the Swedish capital.

Tolonen said Wednesday that other performers will include The Soundtrack of Our Lives and Scott Hamilton Scandinavian Five.

The event celebrates its 25th anniversary this year and is expected to attract around 25,000 people.

The Stockholm Jazz Festival is one of Sweden's biggest music events, and has previously hosted stars such as Lauryn Hill, Sting, Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald and Dizzy Gillespie.
