Pregnant woman, man shot in Jersey City

Two people, including a pregnant woman, were shot when a pair of gunmen opened fire on an SUV in Jersey City Thursday morning. Authorities say the gunfire erupted near the intersection of Parnell Place and McAdoo Avenue just after 4 a.m. The victims, a pregnant 27-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man, were struck as they talked in a Ford Escape.

The woman was shot in the thigh and dropped off at her aunt's house, according to police. She was reportedly crying and clutching her right leg when police arrived.

She was taken to Jersey City Medical Center, where she was in stable condition.

The man, from Emerson, was shot in the left forarm. He drove himself to the Broadway Diner in Bayonne, where he reported the shooting to police.

He was taken to Jersey City Medical Center in stable condition.

Witnesses said the victims' SUV had its windows shattered by at least two .22 caliber bullets.

No arrests were immediately made. Police looking for two men who opened fire and then fled in a Jeep.
