Torture victim testifies against attacker

NEW YORK The 24-year-old woman testified Friday that she initially resisted when her attacker forced his way into her Upper Manhattan apartment and grabbed her.

She says she thought she was going to die, but she wanted to survive and so she did what he told her.

The attacker raped and sodomized her, slit her eyelids with a knife and threw bleach into her eyes in an attempt to blind her.

The man on trial for the torture attack is 31-year-old exconvict Robert Williams. He refused to come to court Friday.

Williams is charged with kidnapping, rape, arson and other counts. He faces life in prison if convicted.
