Police say the two suspects pushed their way into the Armstrong Avenue home just after 5:30 a.m. They pistol whipped the woman and fled on foot.
Police arrived, and at least one shot was reportedly fired at the responding officers. No one was hit.
Eyewitness News is told one suspect was quickly arrested near the scene, while another was taken into custody later.
The victim emerged from her home bleeding heavily from her head. She was treated for her injuries.
