State wildlife officials are going to try to capture three mama bears and their 10 cubs that are calling Branchville home. The Sussex County community is worried the sows' protective instinct could lead to someone getting hurt.

The Environment Protection Department says it will try to trap the bears Friday and give them "aversion conditioning" to make them fear humans. However, the DEP says the bears are not considered a nuisance so it will not relocate the sows and cubs outside the town.
