U.S. immigration officials say a statewide anti-gang initiative has yielded 96 arrests in New Jersey. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said the operation, which ended Saturday, targeted people for their association with violent street gangs.

ICE said many of those arrested face immigration violations.

Many also face criminal charges ranging from drug possession to attempted murder.
