Man arrested in teen struck by truck

LINDEN Eighteen-year-old Allan Henao was killed when he was hit by a tractor trailer last Tuesday. Now, investigators say Henao ran into the street trying to escape an attack.

The incident happened in Linden. Now, a suspect is under arrest.

It appears the victim was trying to avoid trouble as he backed out into the street. He was eventually hit by a truck. Now, police say it was not an accident.

Henao, known as "Skittles," was walking in the 200 block of East Linden Avenue when he was called to a house to see someone he knew. Shortly after, a scuffle began that ended with Henao's death.

Police thought they were investigating a terrible accident, but once they started gathering information from witnesses, they realized the victim was backing away from an assault.

"Mr. Henao, once he was backed in that position, he had no escape route," Linden police Captain Raymond Tyra said. "And that's when tragedy happened."

Police say the victim was forced, or possibly pushed, into the street by another man, who has been charged with aggravated manslaughter.
