Authorities say they have developed two patterns after speaking with the victims. The attackers seem to target women waiting for the bus.
Many women who use the Q85 bus stop are now carrying pepper spray after police say the suspect on the left in the picture above attacked two women at that location. The first incident happened on Tuesday, when the man allegedly dragged a 43-year-old woman into a backyard. Police say he struck again Thursday morning, when he forced an 18-year-old into the playgroung behind P.S. 37 before raping her and fleeing on foot.
Police say the suspect, in his early 20s, wore a black tribal-pattern T-shirt with a skull and roses on it.
Authorities also believe the suspect takes pictures of his victims after the attack.
Authorities have also linked the suspect on the right in the picture above to as many as eight other sex assaults. He is wanted for his most recent attack, in which he dragged a 16-year-old behind a church in Jamaica and sexually assaulted her at knifepoint.
In all the cases except one, the suspect has used a knife to intimidate his victims. The rape cases the suspect is believed to be involved in date back to November.
