Two boys shot in barrage of bullets

The wounded victims are just 11 and 16 years old
EAST WILLIAMSBURG Police say the victims -- ages 11 and 16 -- were hit behind buildings on Manhattan Avenue, near Moore Street, just before 4:15 a.m.

The 16-year-old was in the arm and the leg. The 11-year-old was also hit. They were rushed to Bellevue Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Eyewitness News is told the boys were hanging out behind buildings in an apartment complex when they were hanging out. Residents reported hearing a large number of shots fired. And some

"Boom, boom, boom...that's what I heard," one resident said.

No arrests were immediately made. Police taped off the area as they investigated.
