She ran downstairs, where witnesses saw her slashed and bleeding.
She was rushed to Lincoln Medical Center in critical but stable condition, officials say.
The boyfriend, 38-year-old Michael Jones, was pronounced dead at the scene.
In all the commotion, her two children, ages three and eight, went missing for a little while. Eyewitness News is told they were later found unharmed at an aunt's house in Upper Manhattan, and taken to a local police precinct.
