Exploding fireworks sparked a fire and fear on a block in Yonkers. The incident happened at 4 Larrimore Avenue just after 7:00 Sunday night.

The explosions sent two men running from a garage where investigators say fireworks were being stored.

Both men collapsed on out on the street where paramedics found them. Each was said to be suffering from serious burns.

At the back of the house, a woman and two children managed to escape. Neighbors were feared the whole house might explode.

Around front, firefighters faced the biggest danger in boxes of unexploded fireworks that had touched off the initial explosions.

Firefighters were able to stabilize the situation, which officials say posed serious danger.

Three firemen were treated for heat exhaustion.
