New York Congressman Charles Rangel is waiving the white flag over the controversy surrounding his use of a rent stabilized apartment as a campaign office. Rangel's office confirmed to Eyewitness News that the powerful and popular veteran congressman will re-locate his office, which is currently set up inside one of four rent-controlled apartments he rents in the same luxury high-rise in Harlem.

The move comes just days after a watchdog organization filed a complaint with the Federal Election Commission.

By law, tenants of discounted apartments can use them only as their primary residences.
