A suspicious package halted Metro North trains between Glenwood and Yonkers on the Hudson line for more than two hours. The package was found under an overpass near Ashburton Avenue and Alexander Street in Yonkers around 8:30 Friday night.

A Metro North spokesperson says 16 trains were held in place as MTA and bomb squad investigated the incident.

Around 1000 passengers remained on those trains during the investigation.

The package turned out to be a couple of paint cans taped together. The investigation is continuing.

Train service resumed around 10:35 p.m.
