A four-year-old girl was rescued from a pool at a private swim club in the Pleasant Plains section of Staten Island. The victim was found in the large pool at the South Shore Swimming Club at 6736 Hylan Boulevard just before 2:30 p.m. this afternoon.

She was rushed to Staten Island University Hospital North, where she was admitted.

Authorities used a police motorcade to get the child to the hospital.

The pool was immediately cleared, and worried swimmers stood on the side as lifeguards looked at the water.

A police patrol car blocked traffic at the front gate of the private swim club.
