Sono was pulled from the blaze, but was pronounced dead at Englewood Hospital.

The victims family is traveling in Japan.

Neighbors called 911, reporting the flames. Other residents of the house escaped the fire.

Officials say after battling the blaze, one firefighter became overcome with heat and exhaustion. He was rushed to the hospital, and is expected to be fine.

Authorities tell Eyewitness News there were no working smoke detectors in the home, and it appears the victim was smoking in his bed and did not extinguish the cigarette fully which possibly led to the fire.
