7-year-old struck in hit and run

JERSEY CITY The incident happened at 95 Grant Avenue in Jersey City. Neighbors say the boy was struck around 9:30 p.m. and dragged down the street. He was reportedly crossing the street to get to his brother.

Police say the boy was bleeding from the head and rushed to Jersey City Medical Center in extremely critical condition.

The vehicle that struck the boy reportedly fled the scene. There is no description of the vehicle at this time.

Authorities say a green Acura was found abandoned a few blocks away. They are searching for the owner of the vehicle.
