There was heavy police activity on North 11th Street around 10 p.m. Sunday.
One person, identified as 27-year-old Eugene Davis, of Jersey City was shot and killed. Three others were severely pistol-whipped.
Paramedics tended to the victims, who were rushed to area hospitals.
Police are reportedly looking a dark-colored jeep and two men, who police say are armed. Authorities believe the motive was robbery.
