Mom hits son, 3, with car

BRENTWOOD, N.Y. - Suffolk County police say Brentwood resident Patricia Vasquez was backing her car into the driveway Monday afternoon when Kenneth Alfaro ran out of the house.

Police say the mother didn't know her son was in the driveway and hit him with the car.

Vasquez immediately drove the boy to a hospital. Kenneth is listed in serious but stable condition with head and neck fractures.

The mother's car has been impounded for a safety check.
