The bank robber,police say, is so nonchalant that most of the time people don't even know the banks are being robbed But with surveillance photos released today, they're expecting it's only a matter of time before his luck runs out.
Police say the suspect makes his living as a serial bank robber. Hitting up tellers all over Nassau County. They say he kind of just walks up to the counter and passes a simple note.
"In that note is written quickly and quietly. Basically, its indicitive of how he wants that money handed to him," said Det. Sgt. Tony Repalone.
Evelyn Streaman says she was in the Roslyn Savings Bank in Mineola the day it was robbed last month, and says she didn't even know it happened until a manager later told her.
The man pulls it off so casually, even security guards at the bank in Mineola say the don't even know when it's happening. Police say the man dubbed quickly and quietly has hit 12 banks all over nassau county this summer, including Roslyn savings bank in Mineola three times.
Other heists include Commerce Bank on broadway in Hicksville and a Commerce Bank on Old Country Road in Plainview.
In every instance the suspect wears a long sleeved shirt , black sunglasses and a baseball hat. In some cases police say the bank tellers are now recognizing him waiting in line, but still do whats suggested and comply.
Chris Depasquale works across the street from roslyn savings bank and says even though he isn't a customer he's worried about his own safety and everyone elses.
"If there are weapons you never know. A stray bullet could come at us. This could happen," he said.
Police say this string of robberies come with a minimum of 15 yrs for each count.
