Arrests made in little boy's shooting

BROOKLYN - Two teens are under arrest for this week's shooting of a 9-year old boy outside his apartment in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.

The arrests come after a long night of questioning by police.

Nine-year-old Shamshawan Kelly was shot in the temple as he was caught in the crossfire as a dispute erupted outside of his apartment Monday night.

Luis Gonzales, 18, who lives two floors above the victim, and 18-year-old Johnathon Frazier were in a fight because a 17-year-old friend had previously been beaten up, and police say when the two saw each other they began firing.

Police say Gonzales and Frazier turned themselves in, accompanied by their attornies and their families.

Both are now facing attempted murder and assault charges.

A third person, Franklin Gillespe, who was the friend involved in the fight has been charged in connection with a previous robbery.

The victim remains in critical condition.
