Subway service restored after odor

Subway service resumed at a station in Midtown Manhattan following a strange odor. Eyewitness News is told the strong odor traveled through the station at 7th Avenue and 53rd Street Station just before 10 a.m.

The odor appeared to be an escalator motor fire.

Firefighters evacuated the station and blocked off the area outside. No one was seriously hurt.
