Corrections officers involved in shooting

An off-duty corrections officer was taken into custody after shooting at another off-duty officer Thursday morning. Police say the shots were fired on 196th Street in the St. Albans section of Queens just after 2:15 a.m. The suspect, a female off-duty corrections officer, allegedly fled the scene.

Authorities say her intended victim, a male off-duty corrections officer, was not hit.

Police say the woman sped away in a Mercedes, but was quickly caught blocks away. She is being questioned by detectives. No charges were immediately filed.
