They found at the girl, Ginelis Jimenez, unconscious and unresponsive.
She was rushed to Interfaith Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The medical examiner said on Thursday the child was beaten to death.
Her father, Michael Jimenez, 25, has been charged with murder.
Her mother, Kimberly Centos, 23, has been arrested on a charge of acting in a manner to injure a child.
Police say the couple's 1-year-old son also appeared to be abused.
