Authorities say the first incident happened in Borough Park on Monday, July 16, 2007, around 8 p.m. They say a 4-year-old girl was playing in front of her house when the suspect drove up, took her from the stoop, placed her in a car and drove away.
While in the car, police say the suspect sexually assaulted the child before dropping her off. She was found about two and half hours later, wandering about 15 blocks from where she was taken. The girl was not wearing any underwear when she was found. An older sister had been with her for a time outside the house before she went down the block to play with friends, leaving the little girl unsupervised
The man apparently struck again Sunday, August 3, just before 9 p.m. In that case, police say a 14-year-old girl was walking on 41st Street and 12th Avenue when the suspect came up from behind her and forced her into the vehicle. He then drove the victim to another location, where she was sodomized. Police say he then attempted to rape her, but she fought with her attacker. He then drove on and left her at Fort Hamilton Parkway and 36th Street after midnight.
He is described as a white male between the ages of 20 and 25. He has a thin build, is clean shaven and has short, spiky black hair. He drives a black or dark colored four-door sedan with tinted windows and a beige cloth interior.
State Assemblyman Dov Hikind is offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the man.
"I am deeply concerned about the two Borough Park abductions which have now been tied to the same assailant," Hikind said. "Already shaken by the recent assault, this will make residents even more anxious about the safety of our children. This is a community with a lot of children and they must be protected. The NYPD is to be commended for the significant resources they have committed to capturing this perpetrator."
