Some local Jews boycotting strawberries

While many see the strawberry as a juicy, delicious summer fruit, some local rabbis now call it a forbidden fruit. Rabbis in some of North Jersey's Jewish communities say the strawberry is unclean and violates jewish dietary law.

Certain bugs sometimes like to eat strawberries and other produce and while they are very tiny, the religion forbids eating live insects.
