Burglary, beating caught on camera

BRONX The beating was vicious, but the thieves didn't get away with anything.

The burglary happened at the Roma coffee shop on East 187th Street at Hughes Avenue in the Bronx last Wednesday morning at 5:30.

The owners walked in on the two thieves, who then began beating the two owners.

One of the victims, a 35-year-old man, suffered a broken nose, fractured cheek bone and a knee injury.

The other victim was also injured, but not as badly.

There are a lot of cameras in the neighborhood. Surveillance video shows the two suspects sitting outside the coffee shop for more than an hour before the burglary. Another camera captured the suspects climbing a fence to get a board that they used to break into the coffee shop.

A camera inside the shop shows the suspects beating on the two owners before running off.

Police are hoping someone recognizes the two men and turns them in.
