3 arrested in rape, robbery in park

GREENLAWN, N.Y. (AP) - More disturbing details have come out -- prosecutors say the woman was raped by each of the three suspects. They say her shirt was pulled over her head. The three victims' cell phones were also thrown in the woods, to keep them from calling for help.

On Wednesday morning, 18-year-old Justin McDonald walked out of the 2nd Precinct, facing serious charges in connection with the attack on three people.

Police say this all happened at Frazer Park in Greenlawn early Saturday morning. McDonald and two others are accused of raping the woman and robbing the two 18-year-old men.

The three suspects were armed with bats and carrying a handgun. They tied up the victims with shoelaces.

The park is nothing more than a wide open field, known to be a bit of a hangout in the area for partying teenagers. Still, neighbors it's in a nice neighborhood and many were shocked by the attack.

"I am very surprised," one resident said. "It's a beautiful area. I'm very surprised, shocked."

The other two suspects in the case are brothers Anthony and Patrick Minkeson.

Anthony is 19 and Patrick 18. They are both in police custody. All three suspects face charges of rape, robbery and criminal sexual acts. They carry a 25-year sentence.
