Person fatallly stabbed, shot in Greenwich

Greenwich Police say the male suspect was arrested following the violence inside 36 Nicholas Avenue just after 10:45 a.m.

The body of the victim remained in the house, awaiting the arrival of the medical examiner.

The crime scene was in the Pemberwick section, near the state line.

Greenwich police released the following statement:

"The Greenwich Police Dept is presently investigating a shooting incident in the western section of town. Upon arrival of police personnel the victim was found deceased from gunshot and stab wounds and subsequently a subject was taken into custody at the scene. At this time, no additional information is being disseminated relative to the identity of the victim or the subject taken into custody. The investigation is in its preliminary stages and as information becomes available and is releasable it will be disseminated. The Greenwich Police Department would like to assure the community that this is an isolated incident and residents should continue their daily routine without fear."
