Dismembered body found in cement

TEANECK Authorities say the man confessed to dismembering his ex-girlfriend in the Bronx and burying her body in cement in at a construction site in Teaneck.

It appears that rage and jealousy was the motive for the crime, and residents in the area say they are shocked and stunned by the horrible discovery.

The entombed remains of the victim, identified as Jaritza Calderon, were removed from the vacant house after investigators conducted a thorough search of the location Sunday.

According to police, Julio Flores, who had been working as a contractor at the site, confessed to cutting up his girlfriend and burying the body parts under freshly poured cement.

"I saw the man over there, I saw the police put him in handcuffs and take him away," neighbor Ed Lawson said. "Later on, I learned he was burying somebody."

The victim was viciously stabbed to death after trying to get her cable box back from Flores, who lived in the Norwood section of the Bronx. That's when Flores allegedly attacked, dismembering the victim. Police say he put the part is trash bags, which he loaded into his van. They say he then drove to the one-family home, where he completed the crime.

"My niece, she was interested in the house, and she's been in it and everything," neighbor Maurice Sneed said. "I just got off the phone, telling her, and she was in shock."

Police in Teaneck were tipped to something suspicious when the propsective buyer called police after noticing someone was inside the house late Saturday night.
