Tasered suspect dies after fall

A naked New York City man has died after a police officer shocked him with a Taser stun gun. Witnesses say the man was standing Wednesday on a fire escape on a Brooklyn building waving a fluorescent light bulb several feet long at officers. Witness Curtis Douglas says an officer Tasered the man, who froze and fell on his head on the sidewalk.

Firefighters say the man fell at least three stories and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Thousands of New York City police sergeants began carrying Tasers on their belts this year.

The pistol-shaped weapons fire barbs up to 35 feet and deliver 50,000-volt shocks to immobilize people.

Police say Wednesday's incident is being investigated.
