Two students injured in hit and run

OZONE PARK, Queens The victims, both seventh-graders, were struck while crossing Rockaway Boulevard near 98th Street just after 7:30 a.m. this morning.

One of the girls, an 11-year-old, was rushed to Jamaica Medical Center in stable condition.

The other girl had less serious injuries.

The girls were walking to nearby I.S. 137 when they were hit.

School personnel witnessed the crash and called authorities.

Video has been obtained of the incident.

The video shows the two girls being dropped off in the middle of the block. The parents waited on the curb. After a bus passes, the girls begin to run when all of a sudden a black car appears to run directly into them.

The girls were heading to school which was less then a block away.

The father says he drops the girls off every Wednesday always insisting they cross at the crosswalk, but today they saw a group of friends and crossed the street in the middle of the road.

Police are looking for a black Nissan Altima. They say it is either a 2007, or 2008 and the car is missing its side mirror.
