Investigators are searching for the cause of an explosion that leveled a vacant home in Morris County. The blast occurred around 9:45 Thursday morning in the Flanders section of Mount Olive. The house was reduced to a pile of rubble in one loud boom. The roof fell on top of the heep of debris that was once was a dilapidated one story home.

Firefighters and rescuers came to the scene just to see if anyone happened to be inside what was left of the house, but they found nothing.

Some speculated a gas explosion leveled the house, but no major utilities run gas lines to this area.

The house was described as a small Cape Cod. A construction crew had been working in an area in back of the house, but they say they have no connection to the blast.
