Gas station inferno caught on tape

September 26, 2008 10:25:01 AM PDT
A driver lost control and careened into pumps at a Jersey City gas station, sparking a fireball that was caught on camera.Authorities say the driver crashed into the LukOil station at the corner of 12th and Erie streets just before 7 p.m. Thursday night.

The car hit the gas pumps, sparking an inferno near the entrance to the Holland Tunnel.

The driver of the car escaped injury, and a limousine driver at a nearby pump narrowly fled the flames. However, his limo was incinerated in the ensuing inferno.

There were extensive delays at the tunnel as firefighters battled the blaze.
