Crane strikes bottom of Brooklyn Bridge

BROOKLYN BRIDGE Newscopter-7 was live over the scene.

The bridge was apparently struck sometime before 7:30 a.m. by a passing crane.

Eyewitness News is told the crane left debris on the bottom of the bridge, but did not appear to cause any damage to the structure.

Officials were examining the bridge to make sure.

One outbound lane was closed by a DOT crew, but apparently did not affect traffic much.
