NYC group unveils multilingual Bible

NEW YORK The Manhattan-based American Bible Society will unveil a 3,200-page Bible that features translations of the scriptures into five different languages, including Aramaic.

A delegation representing the nonprofit ministry will travel to Rome next week to present the "Biblia Polyglotta" to Pope Benedict XVI, who speaks six languages.

American Bible Society scholars worked on the tome for nearly a year and a half. It will be on display Wednesday afternoon at the society's headquarters on the Upper West Side.

The society's mission is to publish and distribute Bibles. It was founded in 1816.
