Al-Qaida: Pakistanis should unite against enemies

An American member of al-Qaida is calling on Pakistanis in an English-language video message to put aside differences and establish an Islamic state. Adam Gadahn says the Pakistani government is responsible for the deaths of more Muslims than the American "crusaders."

In a video clip distributed Saturday by the SITE Intelligence Group, a Washington-based monitor of militant Web sites, Gadahn pointed to the U.S. economic crisis as proof that the "enemies" of Islam face defeat.

Gadahn grew up in Los Angeles. The FBI says Gadahn moved to Pakistan in 1998 and attended an al-Qaida training camp six years later, serving as a translator and consultant.
