Serb diplomat has detention revoked

SERBIA Belgrade municipal court secretary Nada Djordjevic says former Serbian vice-consul in New York, Igor Milosevic, will be released from prison later Tuesday.

Djordjevic says that Milosevic has spent a month in detention.

She says the court believes he no longer can influence the ongoing investigation against him.

Milosevic is accused of issuing emergency travel documents to student Miladin Kovacevic which helped him jump bail and escape to Serbia last June after being charged with assault in upstate New York for severely beating another student.

Kovacevic remains in Serbia.
