Repairs start on Lincoln Tunnel this weekend

NEW YORK The New Jersey-bound Lincoln Tunnel helix will be closed to traffic Saturdays from 1:30 to 9:30 a.m. beginning this weekend, October 11.

The closure will take place each weekend until the scheduled project completion in late fall.

Two of the helix's four New Jersey-bound lanes will be closed between 11:30 p.m. on Fridays and 1:30 p.m. on Saturdays.

This $1 million capital improvement involves resurfacing the westbound helix exclusive bus lane and performing minor concrete deck repairs.

During the work, detours will direct traffic to New Jersey highways.

Work will be suspended for holiday weekends and also may be canceled in the event of unfavorable weather conditions.
