Fitness routine with a twist

SEEN THIS MORNING
October 15, 2008 You may want to try a new kind of fitness routine.

Intensati instructor Kimberly Persley gives her students a new age workout.

By the time the one hour class is finished, Persley says everyone will be sweaty and breathless.

"You've worked on your balance, your flexibility, but you've also done something really quite remarkable for your mind and spirit. Everyday, in a very true way, I co-create my reality," she said.

The workout combines yoga, martial arts and catch-phrases designed to lift the spirit.

"There is so much concentration involved and you are watching, you start sweating and your body -- you are holding poses and moving into other things. You get a workout man," D.J. Keynote said after taking the Intensati class.

Intensati was born in New York City and it's popularity is spreading throughout the country as a way to lose weight and gain strength and for many devotees it beats going to the gym.

"Because the thing is you don't want to go the gym and feel like a hamster on a wheel. We want to keep things refreshed so that you can stay involved and also get those results that you want," Persley said.
