Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is returning to Virginia for a rally in Roanoke. Obama's campaign says the rally is set for 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Coliseum at Roanoke Civic Center. The event is free and open to the public.

A high-ranking Republican official told The Associated Press that Republican John McCain will be in Prince William County on Saturday. The time and venue for that event isn't set.

The official spoke on the condition of confidentiality because the campaign had not announced the visit.

Polls show the candidates neck and neck in Virginia.
