Freak accident on New Jersey Turnpike

ELIZABETH Officials say the workers, both men, were hit near the Interchange 13A toll plaza just after 12:15 a.m. this morning.

They were reportedly both pinned against their dump truck and pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police the driver of the SUV stopped at the scene. No charges were immediately filed.

The accident, in a construction zone, and ensuing investigation did not cause any Turnpike lanes to close.
