Police are investigating a deadly hit and run in Wesley Hills.Authorities say a 55-year-old man was struck and killed early Thursday as he walked home. The driver fled the scene.

Police say Martin Gluck was walking on Route 306 toward his Pearl Drive home around 12:30 a.m. when he was hit by a car near Willow Tree Road.

A caller alerted authorities to a body along the side of the road. Police do not know if the caller was the person who struck Gluck.

"Our investigative team is sure that whoever struck this individual knew that they had struck a person and committed a fatal hit-and-run," Ramapo police Lt. Brad Weidel told the Journal News.

Gluck was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
