Man wanted in luring attempts on LI

BRENTWOOD Police want everyone to be aware that they are investigating two separate attempted abductions that are believed to be linked to one man.

Students are being asked to walk in groups since police say two teenagers at separate times were grabbed and lured into a wooded area.

They aren't saying exactly where the incidents occurred, due to the investigation, but say both happened Thursday morning between 6:30 and 7.

One victim tells police the man had a knife. The other says he stole her pocketbook. Both girls give the same description.

The suspect is described as having a thin build, about 6-foot tall, approximately 30 years old and wearing dark clothing.

Brentwood neighbors say it's scary to hear about two attempted abductions in a half-hour span.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 800-220-TIPS.
