Spitzer, wife mark anniversary together

NEW YORK On their first anniversary since the scandal, they were seen laughing over breakfast at a posh Madison Avenue deli near their Fifth Avenue apartment.

A spokeswoman for the Spitzers told the Daily News they would be spending the rest of the day, Friday, at their upstate farm.

Last spring, a grim-faced Silda Wall Spitzer stood by her husband when he announced he was resigning after news broke that the New York governor had patronized high-priced prostitutes.

The couple has three daughters, and people close to the former governor's wife, an attorney, told the News she's decided to stay married to the man she met at Harvard Law School.

She also recently started working at an investment firm where she hopes to focus on "green-tech" projects and alternative energy, according to the News.

Last March, a federal wiretap picked up Spitzer - "Client No. 9" - arranging a tryst with a 22-year-old at a Washington hotel.

The Spitzers' social life now consists mainly of seeing friends privately, the News said.
