Several residents were also overcome by the thick smoke that filled the apartment building. The injuries to both the firefighters and the residents are not considered life-threatening.
The fire destroyed much of the building.
Many residents will be getting temporary shelter from the Red Cross.
Some people lost everything.
Investigators are trying to determine what sparked the fire.
