Westchester Co. delays vote about calories on menus

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. The Westchester County Board of Legislators held a public hearing on the issue Monday night. More than a dozen people spoke.

The board's discussion of the issue has been put off until its next meeting in November.

A calorie labeling law has been passed in New York City. The goals include curbing obesity and preventing diabetes and heart disease.

Westchester's legislation would primarily affect businesses operating in 10 or more locations.
